"MNS LAMIBA Beginner Birding" Training Workshop Day 3

That morning we had some not-so-good weather, so we decided to head back to Jelai Highland Resort for round 2!

White-throated Fantail

Birds in Jelai are very tame, used to being around people. 1 guy was using his cheapo-phone to snap the bird like 10cm away!
If you don't have a long lens, I'd say this is the place you want to be at! All my pictures were taken using 18-105mm lens :p



Long-tailed Sibia remained as the most common birds up there.

If you've read Day 2, notice how different the female Little Pied Flycatcher is compared to their male counterpart. ^
Similarly, the male Grey-chinned Minivet is also different from the female!

Besides birds, Fraser's Hill also boast a variety of moths

Back @ Silverpark, Glenda gave a presentation touching on Conversation Efforts of Fraser's Hill.
Kim Chye then highlighted the difference of the Malaysian Whistling-thrush and Blue Whistling-thrush.
The Malaysian Whistling-thrush is endemic to Malaysia. Click "me" to read more about it!

There was a feedback session, proceeded by group photo taking.

We bid goodbye and off we went along our own pathway home, back to the bustling city of KL for me.

Ohhh Before I forget.

Birders Taboo 101!
1. Never point at the birds.
They somehow "know!" you're pointing at them and will fly away!
2. Never name the bird!
Yea they know their name I guess..
3. NEVER say the FOUR letter word. R-A-I-N!
if you say it, it WILL happen!
